“It’s A Good Day To Be Alive”
“
I t’s a good day
To be alive”
So said the man on life support
A nd then he died – and his family went to court
G rieving as they divvied up
O rnaments & coffee cups
O dds & ends and other stuff
D escribed as his possessions
D emonstrating in this session
A fact we’ve come to know
Y ou can’t take them with you when you go
B ut you can take your soul – that’s what you send up
E xactly, tell me now where does it end up?
A nd will it find a friend up in the sky?
L ife, where does it go when
I t must die?
V ery well, I’d rather wait for GGod’s reply
E xisting in suspense I guess I’ll live…
…Till my last days arrive
Now it all makes sense
And I’ll write down in my archives
Every day I wake up
It’s a good day to be alive

The Relevance Of Each Other’s Deity
A/K/A God Is Love & Love Is God
E very religion seems to say the same thing
T hough not quite the same way
E ach religion says “love is the main thing”
R eligiously inviting this mainstay
N ow there are indeed differences
I t is from these we debate
T he relevance of each other’s deity
Y ours is this & that and mine is great
I believe we often miss our purpose
S o may these words correct our oversight…
…God is love & love is God, and once our hearts get this we got it right

I Wish You God
I wish you God in those familiar places
I wish you God in friendly faces
I wish you God as wide as this universe is spacious
Benevolent & gracious
I wish you God
I wish you God in a flower
I wish you God in sweetness & sour
I wish you God transparent, transcendental
Experienced & gentle
A God so amazing
You can’t find the words or phrasing
So you just raise your eyes to the stars
And you start gazing
You don’t speak
You hum
You don’t just seek
You succumb
Raising your arms
Above your head
Your heart is warm
And your spirit fed
What do you know?
My wish came true
Now I can see
God lives in you
In your walk
In your talk
It’s like a pull
And a tug
I feel it in your hug
There’s no friction, no issues
We’re no longer at odds
Our relationship is stronger
I’m so glad I wished you God

Decide It
D ecide it
I t will be so
S o decide it
C onfide it to your Deity of choice
I f you decide it, then it will be so
P rovided
L ight that lets you see-it-be gives voice
I ’ve denied it, tried it and I cannot hide it
N or misguide it from the ways that I’ve applied it
E xcited I am more than words can write it…
B ut this wind is meant for you my friend to ride it
S o will you thrill you? Can your heart abide it?
O r will you wander weary onward undecided?
